Instructor Position A junior faculty, Instructor, position is open at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in the laboratory of Gyongyi Szabo to study the role of innate immunity and immune cell activation in liver diseases and in the gut-liver-brain axis. We are studying various murine liver injury models of alcoholic hepatitis, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and their relevance to human patient samples and disease.

Recent focus is on the role of microRNAs and extracellular vesicles in immunoregulation in the pathogenesis of liver diseases. The Instructor will work closely with Dr. Szabo on defining new directions for the Szabo lab and advise research fellows and students on experimental design and data analysis. The instructor will work closely with the PI on research laboratory management and regulatory compliance. The optimal candidate will have experience in innate immunity and/or immunology and cell biology and molecular techniques and experience with animal models. Applicants should have PhD and/or MD degree and at least 3 years of relevant postdoctoral experience.
