The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a faculty position to begin in Fall 2012. Preference will be given to applicants at the Assistant Professor level, however applicants at higher ranks with exceptional records will also be considered. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. In particular, we seek applicants in the thermal/fluid sciences with research interests in bioMEMs/nano-biotechnology or advanced energy technologies. The successful candidate will be expected to build a strong, recognized, externally-funded research program. The candidate should also have a marked interest in and talent for teaching in both the undergraduate (B.E.) and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) programs.
