Assistant Professor (Job#12631) School of Politics and Global Studies Arizona State University The School of Politics and Global Studies at Arizona State University (Tempe) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor beginning August 2019. We are interested in candidates whose research and teaching focus is on political psychology, broadly defined. Candidates with expertise in the intersection of politics and psychology from any subfield of political science or from other disciplines, such as psychology, are encouraged to apply. We are open with respect to theoretical orientation, substantive focus, and methodological approaches. Position duties include teaching courses in political psychology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; advising and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students; developing an active research agenda; and providing service to the department, college, and university. In particular, we see this position contributing to the development of a new online MA in Political Psychology in conjunction with the Department of Psychology. Minimum Qualifications: candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Political Science or related discipline by time of appointment; have published in refereed outlets; evidence of promise in and commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, including online delivery. Desired qualifications: demonstrated success meeting the needs of diverse student populations and/or reaching out to diverse communities; the ability to teach advanced statistical methods, particularly at the graduate level; a clear record of publishing in top journals and/or top university presses, demonstrated potential to establish a strong, externally-funded research program.
