The Department of Physics at Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Experimental Condensed Matter and Quantum Physics beginning in July 2024. BU is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and service, will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Specific research areas of interest include, but are not limited to: superconducting quantum devices and circuits, quantum sensing, AMO physics,  molecular/defect qubits, and low-dimensional quantum materials (growth and/or characterization). Top candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, have experience with inclusive pedagogy, and be expected to contribute to curriculum development, teaching, and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate level.  

This search is part of a multi-year, interdisciplinary quantum science and engineering hiring initiative at BU. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree, will be expected to establish an outstanding research program, and be an effective teacher and mentor in the undergraduate and graduate instructional programs of the Physics Department.
