POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor with Tenure of Human Development (Adult Development and Aging/Sociocultural and Global Issues) EFFECTIVE

DATE: August 20, 2018 (Fall Semester) SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Ph. D. in Human Development or contributing discipline (e.g., Anthropology, Psychology, Public Health, or Sociology) • Degree at time of application or official notification of the completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2018 • Demonstrated ability or potential to effectively teach undergraduate courses in Human Development • Record of or demonstrated potential for successful research and publication • Socio-cultural background with a research and teaching focus on adult development within the life course • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population


DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Demonstrated ability to teach specialized courses on adult development • Demonstrated ability to teach adult development within the contexts of diverse communities • Demonstrated ability to teach courses from an interdisciplinary perspective • Demonstrated ability to mentor student research • Demonstrated training in Sociology or Gerontology. • Specific area of research should focus on topics relevant to family dynamics, social and emotional development through adulthood, adult education or developmental concepts in global contexts. • Demonstrated ability or potential to conduct research leading to publication in areas relevant to the department’s mission • Experience working in an interdisciplinary context • Evidence of or potential for department, college, university, and community service • Evidence of or potential for effective department and/or program leadership commensurate with rank

DUTIES: • Teach courses in Human Development and/or appropriate area(s) • Supervise undergraduate students in research and fieldwork • Engage in scholarly activities leading to publication • Participate in service to department, college, university and community.
