Postdoctoral Associate | Design and Augmented Intelligence Lab at Cornell University
 

The Design and Augmented Intelligence Lab (DAIL) at the Department of Human Centered Design, Cornell University (https://www.dail.human.cornell.edu/) is seeking to hire Postdoctoral Associate to contribute to our current projects in the lab. The postdoctoral associate will contribute to research efforts at the intersection of environmental psychology, design, and neuroscience, including studies in which we use a variety of mobile brain-body imaging (MoBI) techniques (EEG, GSR, eye-tracking, motion tracking) to study the human behavior during wayfinding in indoor environments. The position is fully funded for one year with the potential for renewal. The position involves: 

  • Lead in collecting, processing, and analyzing MoBI data for ongoing and future spatial navigation studies in the lab.
  • Create research project standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols and periodic internal reports and status updates.
  • Data management.  
  • Writing research papers for peer-reviewed journals and conferences. 
  • Lead and train Research Assistants of varied levels.

 Qualifications

  • Applicants must have obtained or be in the process of obtaining a doctoral degree in related fields and relevant research experience. 
  • Strong written communication and experience with scientific writing and publication.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary science.
  • Advanced knowledge of neuroscience, digital signal processing, and computational neuroscience.
  • Experience with mobile EEG recording and analysis. Additional expertise in analyzing GSR, motion capture, and eye tracking data is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in application and algorithm developments in machine learning and visualization: MATLAB or Python.
  • Experience overseeing research assistants; and demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively.
