The Department of History at Duke University seeks to appoint a one-year Postdoctoral Associate with specialization in Latin American history for 2021-22. Through research, teaching, and service, the Associate will contribute to the overall work of the History department. We seek candidates with broad knowledge of Latin American history in its global context. We are open to candidates doing research on any aspect of Latin American history and our expectation is that the Associate will be affiliated with one of the ongoing initiatives of the Department such as the History Methods Lab or the Franklin Gallery@History.

Teaching experience is a must. The successful candidate will teach History 121 Introduction to Contemporary Latin America in the fall of 2021 and an advanced undergraduate course in the spring of 2022.  Teaching is expected to be conducted in person.
