We seek a highly motivated research associate to aid on a federally funded project analyzing international trade. The project involves exploring new ways of identifying, quantifying, and visualizing trade relationships using international trade data, national input-output tables, and a novel hybrid input-output database. The researcher will work closely with the project PI to carry out the research objectives, and present and publish findings. The successful applicant will join a thriving community of economic and policy researchers at the Nicholas School of the Environment, the Sanford School of Public Policy, Duke’s economic department, the Fuqua School of Business, and the Nicholas Institute of Environmental Policy.

TERM

1 year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants should hold a minimum of a MS in either Data Analysis, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. The applicant should have a strong knowledge of statistics, be proficient in R, be conversant in MATLAB, and, ideally, have experience analyzing large, complex databases.

PROJECTED START DATE

The position is available immediately. Start date is somewhat flexible depending on the applicant’s circumstances.

Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the USA. Visa sponsorship is not available.
