The Moffitt and Caspi Laboratory directed by Professor Terrie Moffitt and Professor Avshalom Caspi at Duke University in the Psychology and Neuroscience Department at Duke University invites applications for an Associate in Research position to begin in spring 2022. This is a part-time / 20 hours per week position.

Moffitt & Caspi’s research focuses on human development, from birth to death. Our work centers on two cohort studies — the Dunedin Longitudinal Study and the Environmental Risk (E-Risk) Longitudinal Twin Study — and also involves other data sets around the world. Our current research tackles these topics: Genes, Environments, and Development; Antisocial Behavior; Aging; Mental Health; Cannabis; and the Link between Childhood Adversity and Adult Health. Our measurement tools are diverse and involve psychology, genomics, neuroimaging, and geocoding.

The Moffitt and Caspi Lab is committed to the mentorship and training of the next generation of scientists. This position holder would be responsible for analyzing data, and preparing publications and conference presentations. Candidates are expected to have a B.S. in a social or behavioral science discipline, including (but not limited to) psychology, sociology, or aging, with clear evidence of scholarly activity related to human development. The position requires skills in research design, data management and analysis, and written communication to academic and lay audiences.
