Position Description:    

The Department of Theater Studies at Duke University in Durham, NC invites applications for a Lecturing Fellow specialized in Design and Theater Technology to begin July 1, 2024. This full-time, nontenure-track, union position requires an MFA in Theater or related field at the time of hire. The successful candidate will teach up to three courses per year in the area of Design and Theater Technology, focused on sound or video or projection design or some combination of the three. The candidate will also design sound and/or video and/or projections for departmental Mainstage shows and liaise and collaborate not only with other design faculty but also with technicians working for Duke Student Affairs. The renewable appointment will have an initial term of one year. A design practice that bridges artistic disciplines—for example, from theater to music or from theater to visual arts—is particularly welcomed.
