GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY J. Mack Robinson College of Business Dean’s Office

The Dean’s Office of the Robinson College of Business (RCB) of Georgia State University (GSU) invites applications and nominations for a Lecturer in Business (non-tenure track) position beginning in Fall 2020. The appointment is renewable annually but is not limited in duration. Candidates must have a master’s, juris doctorate, and/or doctorate degree from an AACSB-accredited institution (or similarly accredited international university or law school) and demonstrated capability to engage in high-level classroom instruction. Also desirable are successful experience in the professional community and familiarity with teaching very-large classes.

Direct responsibilities entailed in the position include:

• Teaching The primary teaching role will be as a lead instructor for the RCB’s freshman-level course, “Business, Value and You” (BUSA 1105). This course covers a wide range of topics, including the basics of the business environment, the power of markets, business functions, career and professional development, and basic data analysis using Excel. The successful candidate should have experience teaching freshman students and be a highly adept, caring and passionate teacher.

• Student Engagement The successful candidate will mentor students and support RCB student-engagement and student-development activities. In particular, the successful candidate will work mainly with freshman and sophomore students.

• Business Relation Building The RCB’s strategic plan challenges us to aspire to the vision “No one gets closer to business than Robinson.” The successful candidate will assist with bringing the faculty, staff and students together with the business community for mutual benefit.
