The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute (ENI) at Georgia State University (GSU) invites applicants for one or more tenure track faculty positions in entrepreneurship and/or innovation at the Associate or Full Professor level, to begin Fall 2023. We seek applicants with a proven track record of research in leading academic outlets and research interests related to the potential of entrepreneurship to affect social change, inclusive innovation and entrepreneurship, and/or related fields, and a keen interest in creating equal opportunities for entrepreneurs and innovators from all backgrounds to contribute to and benefit from the innovation economy. 

Applicants should have expertise in supporting the University’s strategic goal of becoming a national model demonstrating that students from all backgrounds can imagine and develop solutions to problems and innovative new products and services that create value for themselves, their communities and society. Successful candidates will help shape and contribute towards a multi-year and multi-disciplinary strategy for developing a significant entrepreneurship and innovation research program at Georgia State University with strong industry and community links. 

The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Management, Economics, Sociology, or a related field from an accredited university or international equivalent. Successful candidates will have a strong record of research related to entrepreneurship and innovation in top tier journals in business and related disciplines as well as an active research pipeline developing future work. Service on editorial boards of top entrepreneurship and strategic management journals is preferred. Ideal candidates will also have capabilities to teach courses in the Institute’s interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate offerings, and in other related programs. As a campus with a diverse student body, we encourage applications from women, minorities, and individuals with a history of mentoring underrepresented minorities in entrepreneurship and/or innovation. Candidates will have numerous opportunities to interact with leading companies, entrepreneurial organizations, and collaborate with scholars at universities in the metro Atlanta area. 

The successful candidate’s academic home will be in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute. Established in 2016, ENI is a significant strategic effort by both the Robinson College of Business (RCB) and the University to build upon and expand the university’s offerings in entrepreneurship and innovation courses and experiences among all of its 50,000+ students. Serving as the enabler in the university-wide effort to cultivate a more inclusive entrepreneurial culture, ENI provides educational opportunities and practical experiences in entrepreneurship and innovation for all students at GSU. ENI offers rapidly growing degree programs including a BBA in entrepreneurship, interdisciplinary undergraduate degrees in entrepreneurship in conjunction with the Creative Media Industries Institute, Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, and the Institute for Biomedical Sciences, an undergraduate minor available to all students at GSU, a graduate certificate in disruptive innovation and entrepreneurship, a concentration in entrepreneurship at the MBA level, and a graduate degree in conjunction with the Institute for Biomedical Sciences. Over the past five years, entrepreneurship-themed majors and the minor have collectively experienced outstanding growth and ENI is positioned as an important part of the future of the University and business community. ENI also offers significant co-curricular programming including an accelerator program, student business incubator, small business development center, workshops, speaker series, competitions and community-building events.
