The Department of Computer Science at Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech) invites applications for full-time, non-tenure-track teaching faculty positions at the Assistant Teaching Professor and/or Associate Teaching Professor ranks, beginning August 2023. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, both for majors and for non-majors. Particular areas of interest are Programming Languages, Theory, Cybersecurity, AI, and Data Science.

Candidates must have an M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field and preferably at least two years of teaching experience.

Successful candidates will have experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching and developing instructional materials in computer science. We seek individuals who have a genuine interest in teaching and curriculum development and dedication to student success. The selected candidate’s faculty rank will be determined by the Department, in its sole discretion, and be commensurate with the candidate’s experience.

The department offers Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Professional Master, and Ph.D. degrees in computer science, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence, and has more than 1,300 students. The department is in a significant growth phase, actively hiring faculty and developing diverse interdisciplinary research and education programs. It also has strong and growing partnerships with Chicago’s burgeoning tech community and our local communities of Bronzeville and Bridgeport.
