Position Description:    

Position Overview: Merrimack College invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure track position as Lecturer of Political Science with the possibility of renewal beginning in Fall 2019. Teaching load is four courses per semester total. The position involves the unique component of teaching two introductory level American Politics courses per semester to selected high school students from the Abbott Lawrence Academy on Merrimack’s campus. Abbott Lawrence Academy is a public school with an entrance exam in Lawrence, Massachusetts that provides a high quality, rigorous, college preparatory education. You can find more information about the program at: https://www.lawrence.k12.ma.us/index.php/ala-about. The Lecturer position also involves a regular presence on the Abbott Lawrence Academy campus. In addition to the two courses per semester with Abbott Lawrence Academy, the successful candidate will also teach two courses per semester to Merrimack College students: our introductory level American Politics course and a course on Massachusetts State and Local Government. There is the possibility of teaching additional upper level American Politics courses upon successful renewal.

Qualifications: PhD is required at time of appointment.
