Description: The Ohio State University’s Department of Arts Administration, Education, and Policy (AAEP) invites applications for a full-time, Associate or Full Professor in Art Education to begin August 15, 2023. AAEP faculty and programs are committed to growing and expanding the field of art education and are at the forefront of innovative approaches to exploring the intersections of arts and culture. Successful candidates will have an expertise in art education including an understanding of K-12 art education and contemporary art education literature. AAEP values diverse forms of scholarship including traditional academic publishing, interdisciplinary scholarship; creative scholarship; and public scholarship. 

The successful candidate will continue to build a focused research agenda and will mentor pre-tenured faculty, undergraduate students, and graduate students, including students in our growing distance education program. This faculty member will teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and social justice is an expectation from the Department. 

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in art education or related field (e.g. Curriculum & Instruction; Education); 
  • Research contributions (including but not limited to scholarly publications) that are national/international in scope and respond to contemporary perspectives in art education. 
  • A research agenda that demonstrates a sustainable trajectory for career advancement 
  • Experience in Pre-K-12 and university educational settings 
  • A record of contribution to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, scholarship and service 
  • A record of mentorship/advising of students.
