Temple University is seeking researcher for the W. M. Keck Foundation-funded HUNTER experiment. The successful applicant will play a leading role in the design and construction of a high precision MOTRIMS spectrometer system. Strong experience in experimental science is required including design and construction of UHV equipment utilizing high-precision electromagnetic fields (such as COLTRIMS/MOTRIMS or accelerator beamline elements and instrumentation). The level of the appointment is flexible depending on qualifications. HUNTER (Heavy Unseen Neutrinos by Total Energy-momentum Reconstruction) is a sensitive search for keV-mass sterile neutrinos. We will observe K-capture decays from radioactive nuclei in a laser atom-trap and measure the decay products with high precision using MOTRIMS and scintillation spectrometers.
