Position Description: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

The Department of Psychology, College of Social Sciences, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM) in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi invites applicants for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in an APA accredited Clinical Psychology program, whose work lies broadly in the area of applied clinical science. Specific topics and populations are open, with a preference for candidates who work with and/or study adult populations. This is a 9-month, full-time, permanent, tenure-track appointment, position number 83178, to begin August 1, 2023, subject to position clearance and availability of funds.

Duties: Develop a strong research program, seek extramural funding, publish research in peer-reviewed journals, teach introductory and upper-level graduate and undergraduate courses, mentor students in the candidate's areas of interest, and provide service to the department, college, and university.  Other duties as assigned by the chair.

Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program or an accredited college, university, or foreign equivalent, before August 1, 2023. ABDs will be considered only if all degree requirements will be met before August 1, 2023; ABDs must submit a letter from their committee chair attesting that the dissertation and all degree requirements will be completed prior to the date of hire; ability to teach courses for the undergraduate curriculum and the APA-approved graduate program; ability to provide clinical supervision for practicum students; and must be able to obtain licensure within two years of hiring.

Salary range: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
