An Instructor position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Tapper at the Department of Neurobiology, University of Massachusetts Medical School. The duties of this position are 1) to design and perform experiments to delineate the neurocircuitry underlying addiction and addiction related behaviors using modern basic neuroscience approaches 2) to analyze acquired data 3) to write manuscripts based on acquired research data, and 4) to train students and post-docs in the lab.

Specifically, candidates must be proficient in rodent slice electrophysiology in order to be considered. Strong experimental skills in viral mediated gene delivery, optogenetics, and in vivo electrophysiology are also necessary for this position. Candidates should have a PhD in neuroscience or a related field and have at least 5 years post-doc experience. It is expected that candidates will also have a high level of productivity as demonstrated by multiple first and/or last author primary research publications.
