| Postdoctoral Scholar in Experimental High Energy Physics with ATLAS
The Institute for Fundamental Science at the University of Oregon invites applications for up to three postdoctoral scholar positions in experimental high energy physics with the ATLAS experiment. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field by the date of appointment and a demonstrated ability to perform high caliber, independent particle physics research as well as the capability to mentor students. The Oregon high energy physics group has a strong and exciting research program with major commitments to ATLAS and FASER at the LHC, the LlGO gravitational wave observatory, and detector development for a next-generation of e+e- collider experiments such as the ILC. The successful candidates will support the Oregon group's work on the ATLAS collaboration, and will play a leading role in ATLAS data analysis in searches for physics beyond the standard model during Run 3 of the LHC. Depending upon the specific position, responsibilities could also include operational roles in the trigger system, work on upgrades for the High-Luminosity LHC including Global Trigger, Event Filter Tracking, or ITk, or other topics of interest to our group. Residence at CERN is preferred, especially during the Run 3 commissioning in 2021, except for the possibility to work on ITk in the US We invite applications from qualified candidates who share our commitment to diversity.
