Department of Statistics, Stanford University Lecturer / Senior Lecturer

The Statistics Department at Stanford University invites applications for a full-time lecturer position. There is the possibility of initial appointment at the Senior Lecturer level, depending on exceptional candidate qualifications. The position entails teaching undergraduate / early graduate courses in statistics, and program administration for the Mathematical & Computational Science (MCS) undergraduate major as well as the Minor in Data Science. The candidate will collaborate with colleagues to both develop and revise original course material. The candidate will serve as the Associate Director of the MCS interdisciplinary undergraduate major, working closely with the MCS Director, Brad Efron. Additionally, the candidate will facilitate the summer research program for undergraduates, and will coordinate the statistics lab where students develop the practical skills of data science by working on real-world problems.

Candidates should be strongly committed to excellence in teaching, with demonstrated strong teaching abilities. A Ph.D. in Statistics or a related area is required.
