Position Location: | Kashiwa, Chiba 277-8583, Japan [map] |
Subject Area: | Physics / Astroparticle Physics |
Appl Deadline: | 2017/12/10** finished (posted 2017/10/12, finished 2018/03/27) |
Position Description: |
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position on
astroparticle physics, starting April 2018 or later (but preferably by
fall 2018), at both Kavli IPMU, University of Tokyo (www.ipmu.jp)
and GRAPPA, University
of Amsterdam (iop.fnwi.uva.nl/grappa/). The position is for two years initially but can be extended by up to one additional year based on performance. The appointee is expected to mainly work with Shin’ichiro Ando (GRAPPA/IPMU) on indirect dark matter searches and high-energy astrophysics including gamma rays and neutrinos, but working experience in the specific field above is not pre-requisite for exceptional candidates. In order to stimulate knowledge exchange and to strengthen scientific tie between IPMU and GRAPPA, the appointee is also expected to have broad interest in astrophysics, cosmology, and particle physics phenomenology and to actively interact with various researchers at both the institutions. The application is to be uploaded through Academic Jobs Online at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/10170/apply by December 1, 2017, by providing CV including publication list and research statement. The applicant should also arrange three letters of recommendations. Questions regarding the position (including practical details) should be addressed to Shin’ichiro Ando via email (s.ando@uva.nl). *The title was corrected on November 2 (JST). |
