Position Description:    

We are currently seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of theoretical Condensed Matter Physics to begin as early as September 2018. Appointments at higher ranks will be considered in exceptional cases. All candidates in condensed matter theory, broadly defined, are invited to apply. The condensed matter group has a broad range of interests, spanning sensing at the quantum and classical limit, light-matter interactions, quantum materials, non-equilibrium materials physics and nanotechnology, as well as applications of these areas to quantum information science and quantum technologies. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become a member of the Center for the Physics of Materials (www.physics.mcgill.ca/cpm )multi-university Cluster in Advanced Materials (www.rqmp.ca/?lang=en ) and a multi-disciplinary Cluster in Quantum Information Science (www.intriq.org).

The successful applicant will be an outstanding researcher and have a marked interest in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level. At a minimum (at the rank of Assistant Professor), applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent qualification) in Physics, or in a related field.
