The University of Massachusetts Medical School and the Department of Pathology invite applications for a non-tenure-track Instructor Position. We are seeking individuals with a PhD degree that have experience in basic research/ immunology.

We are seeking a highly-qualified scientist with a strong background in immunology, with at least 6 years of post-doctoral experience. Required Qualifications include the candidate to have research interests and expertise in multiple aspects of MHC I antigen presentation, including but not limited to the following research areas: Antigen presentation: The applicant should have experience in antibody- and T cell hybridoma-based assays for MHC I and MHC II antigen presentation; biochemical assays of MHC molecule assembly, transport and molecular associations; dendritic cell isolation, culture and cross presentation; as well as standard immunological assays. Biochemistry & cell biology: substrate-induced protein stabilization; complementation-based assays of protein interactions in intact mammalian cells; subcellular fractionation, and subcellular molecular localization by confocal microscopy; as well as standard biochemical techniques. Molecular biology: construction of tagged, mutant and fusion constructs; lenti and retroviral construction and transduction; CRISPR gene editing; siRNA silencing and reconstitution in dendritic and other cells; as well as standard RNA and DNA techniques. Animal models: The applicant should have experience measuring T cell and B cell responses in animal models including with TCR transgenics. Preferred qualifications include expertise with multiparameter flow cytometry and deep sequencing. Compensation will be commensurate with the applicants’ experience and publication record.
