The Department of Global Health (DGH) at the Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH) is recruiting for a faculty position with expertise in health economics, economic modeling, and/or economic impact evaluation in low or middle-income countries. We are seeking a versatile microeconomist with field experience and strong quantitative skills. Areas of focus may include the design and evaluation of health system strengthening interventions or the application of behavioral economics concepts in the design and evaluation of interventions that aim to change health-related behaviors. The successful candidate will join DGH’s dynamic research programs in the economics and epidemiology of HIV, infectious diseases, maternal and child health, health systems, and access to medicines in low- and middle-income countries, and will have access to the University’s world class computing facilities and faculty expertise. The Department of Global Health is comprised of 29 full and part-time faculty who are internationally recognized for their innovation in research, scholarship, and teaching in various global health related disciplines. The Department collaborates with international colleagues in multiple countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Central Europe. The successful candidate will be expected to lead an independent research agenda in line with departmental priorities, actively engage in collaborative research, participate in teaching and mentoring master’s and doctoral-level students, and provide service to the department, university, and profession. Applications are welcome at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level. Successful candidates will have strong potential (Assistant) – or a demonstrated track record (Associate/Full) – of conducting global health field research, publishing in top journals, and securing external research funding.

Required Skills Requirements at the Assistant, Associate, and full Professor levels: Doctoral degree in relevant field (economics, public health, public policy, management) Strong publication record on health economics and related topics in low- and middle-income countries Experience with quantitative methods for impact evaluation and cost-effectiveness analysis Experience with primary data collection or other global health fieldwork Ongoing relationships with investigators and/or research organizations in project countries Demonstrated leadership potential, resourcefulness, and intellectual creativity Additional requirements at the Associate and full Professor levels: Demonstrated track record of securing external grant funding for research Current appointment at the assistant professor level or higher
