Position Description:    

Assistant Professor Faculty Position in the Division of Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases and Vulnerable Populations

The Department of Quantitative Health Sciences (QHS) at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Medical School in Worcester, MA is recruiting a non-tenure eligible faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor.

QHS was founded in June, 2009 and currently has over 30 faculty members distributed across 4 Divisions: Biostatistics and Health Services Research; Epidemiology of Chronic Disease and Vulnerable Populations; Health Informatics and Implementation Science; and Outcomes Measurement Science. QHS is also the home for the doctoral program in Clinical and Population Health Research, and of a methodology consultation and service unit, the Quantitative Methods Core. QHS faculty are Principal Investigators on extramural grants totaling over $30 million. UMass is a collaborative and dynamic institution on a rapidly ascending trajectory. UMass received a Clinical and Translation Science Award in 2010 and the Worcester campus currently receives more than $250 million dollars in annual extramural funding. QHS is a key driver of clinical and translational research at UMass.

The applicant is expected to have a PharmD with Master’s level training in pharmacoepidemiology, at least 3 years post-doctoral research experience using large administrative healthcare data sources. The ideal applicant will have strong communication skills necessary to successfully engage in the training of master’s and doctoral students. The candidate will be expected to develop an independently funded research program. Experience with vulnerable populations and policy-relevant research preferred.
