Position Description:

We are participating in the Simons Observatory project and are developing a small-aperture camera. Successful candidates will initially work on the mechanical design and production of the camera at Kyoto University and on optical design and tests at Kavli IPMU but will collaborate with other institutions in Japan and the US. These positions are supported by Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (S) (17H06134, PI: Osamu Tajima)

A Ph.D. in experimental high-energy physics or astrophysics is required by the time of the initial appointment. Applicants should supply a cover letter detailing research interests, a curriculum vitae, and a publication list indicating significant contributions. At least three letters of recommendation are also required. Applications may be submitted via Academic Jobs Online.

The positions are available beginning in the spring of 2018 and can be extended through March 2022 upon successful review on research performance.

The positions are located in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, or Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture.
