The Division of Epidemiology in the College of Public Health at The Ohio State University (OSU), in conjunction with the Department of Neuroscience, is recruiting for a tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The area of this position is injury and/or neuroepidemiology, with a focus on traumatic brain or spinal cord injury, stroke, and/or cognitive impairment, along with associated diseases. This position is part of OSU’s Discovery Theme in Chronic Brain Injury. Successful applicants will be expected to engage in inter-and multidisciplinary research with other investigators on the OSU campus and Nationwide Children’s Hospital engaged in neurological science. The possible research activities include access to data from large prospective studies capturing brain and spine injury data, research using existing medical records or national datasets, comparative patient-centered outcomes research, and clinical trials etc. The successful applicant will have strong epidemiological methods skills and a track record in conducting theory-based epidemiological research projects. Examples of potential areas of methodological expertise include spatial analyses, “big data” approaches, machine learning, and/or large claims data. Successful applicants will also be expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the College.

The College of Public Health provides a robust environment for research with support from a central research office. The Division is linked to the Center for Pediatric Trauma Research and the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
