Position Description:

The Physics Department at Temple University invites applications for a non-tenure-track research assistant professor position in the field of experimental nuclear physics.

We seek outstanding candidates to play a leading role in the upcoming threshold J/psi, A1n and d2n experiments in Hall C at Jefferson Lab (JLab) and future opportunities with the threshold studies of J/psi at SoLID in Hall A at JLab and Upsilon at an electron ion collider (EIC), and to provide support with the Temple University's research efforts within the CLAS12 collaboration at JLab. The candidate will also be involved in the R&D effort towards new detector systems that will be used in a high luminosity and high acceptance environment.

The ideal candidate must have research credentials in experimental nuclear physics, and a strong background in lepton scattering, in particular hard-exclusive processes such as DVMP, as well as SIDIS. Additionally the candidate is expected to be familiar with modern photo-multiplier tubes, Cherenkov detectors and wavelength shifting technology. Temple University is an equal opportunity, equal access, affirmative action employer committed to achieving a diverse community (AA, EOE, m/f/d/v)
