The University of Oregon’s Department of Political Science invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Political Science, to begin in fall 2019. We seek candidates specializing in U.S. Congress, parties, political participation and elections, interest groups and/or public opinion with demonstrated sophistication in quantitative methods. Competitive applicants will be capable of outstanding research and teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Our faculty employ diverse theoretical and methodological approaches but share the pursuit of meaningful answers to big questions with real-world implications. The department features a strong pole of research and teaching about American politics, with particular strengths in institutions, American political development, and the politics of race, gender and sexuality. We particularly welcome applications from scholars who are from populations historically underrepresented in the academy, and/or who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Political Science or related field in hand by time of appointment. Salary is competitive. The successful candidate is expected to conduct a rigorous research program as well as teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
