Postdoctoral Associate - Biostatistics

Duke University is seeking a successful postdoctoral associate in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics ( Duke University is regularly ranked among the top research institutions in the US and worldwide. It is located in Durham, North Carolina.

Position Description: The overall goal of the project is to identify and validate surrogate endpoints of overall survival using data from clinical trials in prostate cancer. The research will lead to both collaborative and methodological publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals. The primary responsibilities of this position involve identifying and validating surrogate endpoints, analyzing data using R, and co-authoring manuscripts. Other opportunities include gaining experience with writing manuscripts.

Qualifications: Candidates must have: a doctoral degree in statistics or biostatistics; solid training in statistical methods and experience in analyzing clinical trials data. The applicant must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), strong programming skills in R with proficiency in UNIX/Linux system. Being able to work as part of a team as well as independently are important skills. Knowledge of survival analysis and experience in cancer trials would be preferred.
