Postdoctoral position in Theoretical Nuclear Physics: QCD

The Institute for Nuclear Physics at the Technical University of Darmstadt has an opening for a nuclear theory postdoctoral researcher in the group of Guy D. Moore. The position would run for 2 years with the possibility of an extension for a third year. The start date is provisionally 1 January 2019, but with substantial flexibility for applicants who need to start earlier or later; starting as late as Summer 2019 is possible.

The postdoctoral researcher will be a member of the research network CRC-TR 211, see CRC-TR 211 webpage, specifically Project A05 or A07. All candidates investigating lattice gauge theory at high temperature, topological properties of QCD, transport phenomena, and nonequilibrium QCD dynamics will be considered. But the main thrust of the search will be for a postdoc with a strong background in lattice gauge theory, especially with a knowledge of topology at high temperature.

The candidate is required to hold a PhD degree by the starting date. Applications from women and minorities are encouraged. Proficiency in German is convenient but not required or expected; many postdocs in the Institute arrive without a working knowledge of German.

More information on the group can be found here . Applicants should send a CV, list of publications, a research statement, and at least 2 letters of recommendation at their earliest convenicence. Applications can either be submitted via Academic Jobs or by email to
