The Center for Quantum Sensors at the Physics Department of Washington University in Saint Louis invites applications for two 2019-2021 Postdoctoral Fellowships in Quantum Sensors and their Application in Fundamental physics and Astrophysics. The applications require a PhD preferably received not more than three years ago (not counting leaves of absence). The fellowships are awarded to outstanding physicists working on the experimental or theoretical aspects of quantum measurements, quantum sensors, and applications. The objective of the fellowship is to allow the awardee to design and implement their own research projects working independently and in collaboration with other members of the center. The successful candidate can use the center infrastructure, including (in cooperation with the center members) access to four dilution refrigerators, microwave technology for sensor interrogation, and a suite of detector and material fabrication and characterization equipment. Applicants should send their applications to the email-address qs@physics.wustl.edu including a cover letter, a CV, publication list, the contact information of three letter writers (email and phone), and a brief research (4 pages max) proposal by December 31, 2018. Applicants are invited to contact the current members of the center (see: https://sites.wustl.edu/quantumsensors/) to discuss possible research projects prior to submitting their applications. All applications will be considered with regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, protected veteran status or status as an individual with disability. Washington University is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity / Disabled / Veterans Employer.
