The Asokan lab is seeking motivated, creative and independent postdoctoral fellows interested in Synthetic Virology and Gene Therapy. Interested candidates should have a background in virology, biomedical engineering, RNA biology or host immunity to pathogens. Our lab (www.asokanlab.org) is focused on understanding virus-host interactions and engineering viruses as platforms for gene therapy, gene regulation and gene editing. We are building a new program with several cross-cutting collaborations across Duke Departments of Surgery, Molecular Genetics & Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering and the Duke Regeneration Next Initiative. PhD or MD/PhD with experience in molecular biology, RNA biology, transcriptome analysis, protein or cellular engineering, neuroscience or innate immunity is required.
