Members of the XOC group are engaged broadly across the fields of X-ray astronomy and observational cosmology, including studies of galaxy and cluster astrophysics, cluster cosmology and X-ray detector development. Hardware efforts are currently focused on the development of readout electronics for the Wide Field Imager for Athena and of integrated readout electronics for next generation X-ray CCD detectors. The XOC group are involved in of a number of major science collaborations including Athena, Lynx, Hitomi, the Dark Energy Survey, Euclid, the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration, the South Pole Telescope, Simons Observatory and CMB-S4.
