The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Public Health is seeking an innovative and effective leader with a strong scholarly record to chair its Division of Health Services Management and Policy. The successful chair candidate will provide senior leadership and vision in the continued growth of health services management and policy within the College of Public Health. The candidate is expected to provide active leadership for the Division, recruit and mentor faculty, foster the expansion of the Division faculty’s research portfolio, oversee program curricula, manage the division’s resources, engage with alumni and conduct other development opportunities, and foster a climate of diversity.

The Division currently consists of 11 faculty members whose research areas include healthcare management, health services research and health policy amongst a variety of healthcare settings, using a broad spectrum of research methodologies. The Division is responsible for curricula leading to MHA, MPH, and PhD degrees.  The Division’s Master of Health Administration program is currently ranked by the U.S. News & World Report among the top 10 programs in the nation. The College of Public Health has an established undergraduate major and minor in public health and anticipates continued growth in these areas during the next several years. The Ohio State University offers an excellent environment for collaborative health care management research with faculty within the College, the medical school and other Health Science Colleges within the university as well as with external health systems, public state agencies, and health care organizations in Ohio and other states.

Candidates should have a PhD or comparable doctoral degree. Candidates should have a strong and distinguished record of scholarly research, teaching, mentoring and demonstrated leadership. This position requires academic credentials consistent with appointment as a tenured faculty member at the rank of professor in the College of Public Health.
