The Division of General Engineering at Vanderbilt University School of Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of the Practice to begin summer 2019, which serve as director of graduate studies for a new master of engineering degree program. A PhD is required in engineering management or a relevant field. We are particularly seeking outstanding candidates with at least eight years of management experience in the tech industry and experience with classroom instruction and online graduate education. We strive for an active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber, skilled in both scholarship and teaching. The candidate’s areas of expertise should include technology marketing and technology strategy. It is desirable, but not required, that the candidate have experience as an entrepreneur and in the patent awarding process. The successful candidate is expected (1) to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, (2) to contribute to the synergistic efforts of the School of Engineering and the entrepreneurial community, and (3) take an active role in the Innovation Pavilion and the Wond’ry.
