Post Doctoral Fellow in Materials Data
A fully funded, two-year postdoc with competitive salary is available with Prof. Linda S. Schadler at the University of Vermont. The position will work with the Air Force Research Laboratory and UVM to translate significant quantities of nanocomposite and meta material data at AFRL into a new data resource DataMine and MetaMine. The goal will be to develop new data translation tools and data imaging approaches for materials design. Significant time will be spent at AFRL supported by the grant.
The position calls for required expertise in materials science, and data storage resources (e.g., triple stores, databases, knowledge graphs, etc.). But materials science and engineering students with strong research background in relevant fields (e.g. statistics, math, computer science), strong programming and communication skills, and a demonstrated desire to learn more about building data resources are encouraged to apply. The position is available immediately.
