The department of political science at Colgate University seeks to fill a one-year position in American politics at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. The appointment will begin in the fall of 2019. Candidates should be able to teach introductory courses in American politics, as well as more advanced courses in the candidates’ areas of interest. Specialization is open but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: the presidency, political parties, transnational politics, religion and politics, and American political development. The teaching load is five courses over two semesters. Completion of Ph.D. is preferred prior to, or shortly after, the date of hire.
