Research-Track Faculty Position
 Materials and Manufacturing

The Department of Integrated Systems (ISE) at The Ohio State University, one of the nation’s top ten public universities, invites applications for a research faculty position. ISE offers degrees (B.S., M.S., and Ph.D.) in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Its undergraduate and graduate programs are consistently among the top programs ranked by US News and World Report, as the department has exceptional strength in all major areas associated with the discipline. The department also has an excellent track record for industry engagement and technology transfer. The search preference is for individuals at the assistant professor level, but all will be considered.

The successful candidate is expected to perform research related to materials behavior subjected to large plastic deformation during high-speed manufacturing, in particular, high-velocity impact welding and forming processes, damage and failure analysis, process simulation, dynamic behavior of materials, and mathematical modeling of manufacturing processes. It is expected that the individual will publish scholarly papers in the engineering education literature (and where appropriate, the broader education literature), and will provide significant national/international service.  A Ph.D. in engineering or a related area and experience in working on diverse research teams and mentoring members of underrepresented groups are required.
