The Chemistry Department at the University of Oregon periodically hires instructors for possible classroom teaching. Positions are full- or part-time temporary positions, with appointments of up to one year, but with the possibility of renewal for up to three years depending on need, funding and performance. Salary is dependent upon education and experience.
The department is now accepting applications to be placed in an Instructor applicant pool. A Master's degree in chemistry or a related field is required; Ph.D. preferred. Potential teaching assignments may include courses in general chemistry, organic/inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, or biochemistry. Prior relevant instructional experience preferred.
Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis and the pools will remain active through 12/31/13. Applicants will be screened as needs arise. Successful candidates will have professional experience and a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
