The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS)
at Georgetown University seeks to hire a Political Scientist of the Arab
World. The primary program affiliation for this position will be with the
Center for Contemporary Arab Studies (CCAS) and its Master of Arts in Arab
Studies (MAAS). The position will be full-time
tenure-line at the assistant professor level. Applications are invited from
early-career political scientists as well as those who expect to complete their
Ph.D. by the time of appointment. We are looking for a scholar with strong
potential for achievement in scholarship, undergraduate and graduate teaching,
and intellectual leadership. The teaching load is two courses per semester, and
the successful candidate will teach the MAAS core class “Politics of the Arab
World”, as well as other political science electives about the contemporary
Arab world to Georgetown undergraduate and graduate students. The successful candidate will have the ability to
teach political science to an interdisciplinary group of students with a
primary interest in the politics of the region. The candidate should be
proficient in Arabic. We welcome

fieldwork-grounded approaches.
