The Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard, together with the Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, Massachusetts), is conducting a search for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level, effective July 1, 2020, or as soon thereafter as possible.  Under special circumstances, a senior faculty appointment with tenure is possible.

Applicants are expected to develop and lead a vibrant, independent research program and to share our commitment to undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses and supervising graduate and undergraduate research.  We are particularly interested in candidates who will help promote and provide diversity.

Candidates must hold a PhD and/or MD or equivalent degree and have a track record of exceptional achievement in basic or translational research and the potential to develop a research program that supports the Institute's ultimate goals of harnessing the immune system to prevent and cure human diseases.  In particular, we are looking for innovative scientists with expertise and interest in infectious diseases, immunology, and/or the human microbiome.  We seek creative individuals who bring complementary approaches from other disciplines including engineering, physical sciences, computational and structural biology, which can synergize with ongoing translational research efforts at the Ragon Institute and the MIT Department of Biology.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a 3-4 page summary of current and proposed research, a statement of teaching interests, and arrange to have three letters of recommendation submitted on their behalf.

Completed applications will be reviewed starting October 1, 2019.
