Postdoctoral Fellow must hold a Ph.D. by the beginning of employment at Chapman University. The doctorate or equivalent must have been awarded within the last five years and candidate has not exceeded five years of prior postdoctoral experience. Applicants are expected to have prior experience in at least one of the following: electrical engineering, quantum computing, superconducting qubits, cavity/circuit QED, or pulse optimization.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide theoretical support for the experimental team of Professor Siddiqi at the University of California, Berkeley, in close collaboration with the theory groups of Professor Jordan at the University of Rochester, Professor Emerson at the University of Waterloo, and Professor Dressel, at Chapman University. The candidate will be mentored by Dr. Justin Dressel.
The research focuses on the novel benchmarking techniques for optimizing two-qubit gates in superconducting transmon systems, with specific focus on applications of machine learning, dynamical decoupling, and weak continuous monitoring.
