Position Description:    

UMass Memorial Medical Group and the University of Massachusetts Medical School is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Clinician Scientist specializing in Medical Retina. The position is open for a retina fellowship trained Ophthalmologist. The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is growing its services to help fill a need in a community of over one million people in central Massachusetts. This unique opportunity allows the right candidate to establish and develop a career in medical retina research in the area. Clinician-Scientist will see patients with medical retina problems and will conduct medical retina research involving case series and evaluation of phenotypes in genetic studies. Opportunity to leverage a large, growing database. May conduct other independent clinical research in this field. Candidate will write manuscripts, present at scientific meetings, and participate in clinical trials.
