The Particle Physics Theory group (Prof. H. Ita) at the University of Freiburg (Germany) offers a 

Junior Faculty Position (Akademische/r Rätin/Rat A13Z) 

starting 1st October 2020. 

The position will be paid at the level of an "Akademische Rätin/Rat auf Zeit", A13Z in the German civil servant system. The position is initially limited to three years with the possibility of renewal up to a total of six years. It includes teaching duties and offers the possibility to acquire a 'Habilitation'. 

To qualify, candidates should have a PhD in and should have demonstrated strong potential for outstanding achievements as independent researchers. Applicants should exhibit experience in the fields of QCD and gravity, and the calculation of radiative corrections. Experience with modern computational methods in perturbative QFT will be beneficial. 

The particle groups at the Freiburg University consist of the theory groups of S. Dittmaier, H. Ita and J.J.van der Bij, and the experimental ATLAS groups of B. Heinemann, G. Herten, K. Jakobs, and M. Schumacher as well as the astroparticle physics group of M. Schumann. 
The theoretical and experimental groups are collaborating in research projects as well as a common graduate school. Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with local PhD students and postdocs as well as to take advantage of the ample expertise in particle physics at the department.

Applicants should provide a CV, a list of publications and a short research statement, as well as arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be submitted.
