Job Description: Associate in Research

Organization: Duke University Position: Research Associate Location: Position location – USA; Durham, NC (With travel 2~ times/yr to South Asia) Reports to: Professor Erica Field; Duke University Start Date: October 1st, 2019 Length of Commitment: 12 months (renewable) Experience: Master’s Degree, depending on qualificatios Language Requirement: None (Bangla Preferred)


Research Associates (RAs) will work with Professor Field doing data cleaning, data analysis, data documentation on grant funded research.

Desired Qualifications and Experience Qualifying candidates will be graduates of well-regarded undergraduate or masters programs in economics and related fields, as well as: • Proficiency in programming with STATA • Strong quantitative and statistical skills • Significant coursework and experience in economics, statistics, public policy and international development. • Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills • Prior research experience preferred • Graduate level coursework is a plus • Strong interest in international development policy and research • Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a team player. • Proven ability to handle several different projects/tasks at one time, successfully complete tasks assigned, and meet deadlines. A willingness to work hard, be self-motivated and learn will be essential for doing well in this position. Experience in managing teams and interacting with institutional partners strongly desired.
