We invite applications for one postdoctoral position in flavour physics as part of a collaboration between Dr. Michael Schmidt (UNSW Sydney), Prof. German Valencia (Monash University) and Prof. Raymond Volkas (The University of Melbourne). The position is for two years with the option to extend it for another year subject to funding and performance. The successful candidate will initially be located at the University of New South Wales in Sydney (UNSW Sydney) with the option for spending a significant fraction of their time in the Melbourne area.

The Research Associate will be a highly motivated and innovative researcher, who can work at an internationally competitive level, independently and as part of a team, on aspects of theoretical particle physics, with a particular focus on (quark, neutrino and/or lepton) flavour physics. They will interact closely with the researchers in the department and the groups of Prof. German Valencia (Monash University) and Prof. Raymond Volkas (The University of Melbourne).

About you:
  • A PhD or close to completion of a PhD in Physics
  • Demonstrated knowledge in (quark, neutrino and/or charged-lepton) flavour physics
  • Demonstrated aptitude for research with a sound record of peer-reviewed publications, commensurate with experience and opportunities
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an independent role and collaboratively with others in a research environment with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
