The International Center for Hadron Astrophysics (ICEHAP), and the Department of Physics at Chiba University invite applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship to advance research in high energy neutrino astronomy with the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. Chiba University has one of the world-leading research groups on high energy neutrino astronomy in IceCube Collaboration, leading to the first discovery of the PeV-energy neutrinos as well as the first identification of an astronomical source to emit ultrahigh-energy neutrinos. The ICEHAP has also started to play core roles in the on-going IceCube Upgrade and in the design of the detector for IceCube-gen2, the next-generation project to expand the IceCube Observatory. We are seeking applications from enthusiastic researchers to further develop particle astrophysics using neutrino data from IceCube and the next-generation experiments. The successful candidate will also be expected to perform teaching at all levels as well as provide administrative service to the department and university. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in physics or a closely related field. The review of applications will begin July 1st, 2020. However, applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Interested candidates should send a cover letter, Curriculum Vitae, list of publications, a statement of research plans, and arrange to have at least two letters of reference sent electronically to:
