Position Description:    

Postdoctoral Associate in Agroecology

Position: Seeking outstanding individual to assist with research, extension, and project management in the Cornell Sustainable Cropping Systems Lab. The position is located in the Section of Soil and Crop Sciences within the School of Integrative Plant Science (SIPS) at Cornell University. Research aims to strengthen food systems through interdisciplinary, systems-based research on agronomic management practices and their effects on sustainability indicators. The incumbent will manage multiple projects, coordinate research, manage and analyze data, write articles and reports, support teaching and extension activities, and assist with fieldwork including soil, crop, and weed sampling and sample processing.

Position Requirements: Successful candidates must have a PhD degree in Ecology, Agronomy, Weed Science, Soil Science, or related discipline. Strong analytical and scientific writing skills are required. Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a diverse, interdisciplinary team are essential. Interest and experience in agroecology, climate change adaptation and mitigation, organic agriculture, and biodiversity are desirable.

Appointment: Position is initially a 1-year, full-time appointment, with the option and expectation for extension contingent on funding, available work, and successful performance. The position is anticipated to start immediately or will remain open until filled. Salary is competitive and commensurate with background and experience. Benefits package is included.
