The College of Health at Lehigh University invites applications and nominations for a Professor / Associate Professor of Biostatistics with a focus on: computational biostatistics and/or applications of Bayesian methodology in experimental and observational designs to be appointed at the rank of full or associate professor with tenure with responsibilities to advance education, research, and service in population health. Preference is given to applicants who can apply their skills in biostatistics to a range of different disciplines, have expertise in data architecture, and who have focused on translating statistical results into intervention in healthcare, health policy, or public/community health. Applications are accepted from qualified candidates with experience across the academic, government, non-profit, or private sectors. Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in one of the following or related fields: biostatistics, statistics, or computational science. Opportunities exist for administrative positions within the College of Health (e.g., Associate Dean, Department Chair, Program Director). 

The College of Health is a leader in developing a Population Health undergraduate, Masters of Science, and PhD. programs. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new curriculum and programs, teaching and mentoring, including courses and other modes of instruction for undergraduate, graduate, and executive education students in the College of Health. The College seeks scholars who will build innovative transdisciplinary graduate and undergraduate programs.  

The College of Health promotes population health as a convergence science, and faculty in the College of Health collaborate across a spectrum of disciplines. Faculty in the College of Health have strong records of making an impact in their field. Such impact can range from the traditional to innovation and new ways of making a difference in improving health outcomes. As such, this can include high quality externally funded scholarship including sustained success as a principal investigator or collaborating investigator. They can also have strong records of peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals, participation in national conference proceeding, and/or the development of intellectual property.

The mission of the College of Health at Lehigh University is to leverage population health as a convergence science to understand, preserve and improve the health and well-being of populations and communities through excellence and innovation in education, research and service. Through the lens of social justice, the College cultivates the next generation of highly skilled and diverse scientists and leaders in population health through novel and interdisciplinary course work, distance learning and experiential learning opportunities.  

The College of Health will be located in the Health, Science, and Technology (HST) Building, Lehigh Universityís newest, state-of-the-art research facility slated for completion in 2021. The innovative, flexible, and sustainably-designed facility will advance Lehigh Universityís academic research endeavors. The primary goals of the building are to encourage an interdisciplinary culture via maximized transparency and accountability; develop functional neighborhoods that create a model of intensity and productivity; and engage the campus community by bringing the public into the building.
